We’ve seen a lot of hosiery options for both men and women at Trend Hunter recently, and I’m reminded of a Renee Zellweger quote I read this morning that credit Hanes pantyhose for her survival. While on location in Winnipeg, Canada filming “New in Town,” Renee Zellweger beat the bitter cold by wearing several layers of pantyhose. “I didn’t know cold like that… And who knew that pantyhose could be so very important, three or four pairs at a time.” Renee Zellweger continues, “I never imagined that I would rejoice at the pantyhose laid out on the bed by wardrobe every morning. I would not be here today were it not for the Hanes, I promise this.” I tested out my first pair of bamboo tights a few months ago in chilly weather and am every bit as hooked as Zellweger. LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Smithsonian Museum wants Aretha Franklin's Inauguration Day hat. The Queen of Soul's big-bowed headgear has been a hot property since the legendary singer belted "America the Beautiful" at Barack Obama's presidential inauguration on January 20, with the Los Angeles Times reporting that the hat's designer, Luke Song, has been overwhelmed with demand for the $179 item. (Aretha's custom-made version cost over $500.) But while the Smithsonian wants the original, Aretha's not sure if she wants to give it up.
