Today's News: Our Take - CSI Cast Member Attacked on NYC Subway

CSI cast member Gerald McCullouch (aka firearms tech Bobby Dawson) found himself at the center of his own crime scene when he was attacked on a New York City subway by a knife-wielding mugger. The actor was editing a YouTube video on his laptop when the attacker jumped into the subway car and tried to steal the computer, McCullouch told the New York Daily News. A trained boxer, McCullouch fought back and "gave him a body shot to the chest," he said. "That's when he pulled a kitchen knife out of a black plastic bag," McCullouch said. "This thing must have had a blade 10 inches long. ...I yelled at the top of my lungs, 'Get the [bleep] away from me!' That's when the knife came down into my back. I don't know whether he lost his grip or what, but the blade didn't penetrate my leather jacket." Police arrived after a passenger alerted the conductor. Thirty-nine-year-old James Torres was arrested and charged with robbery, assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He is due in court on March 23. This is the second time McCollouch has fought off a mugger. In 2001, he and a boyfriend were robbed at gunpoint in Atlanta.
