Nikki Blonsky Says Airport Brawl Has Made Her Family Closer

Six months after Nikki Blonsky and her family were involved in a highly publicized airport brawl with America’s Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden, the Hairspray actress says she and her family have emerged closer than ever. "We are a very strong family, we love each other and nothing will ever tear us down,” Blonsky told PEOPLE Saturday night at the Silver Living Society Winter Gala in N.Y.C. to benefit The Hope & Heroes Children’s Cancer Fund. "I don’t even need to defend myself. It’s pretty obvious that it was just a big scam.” Blonsky, 20, and Golden, 20, were cleared of all charges stemming from the July 30, 2008 incident, but Blonsky’s father, Carl Golden, still faces charges in Turks and Caicos, where the incident took place.

Taken Trumps Blart - Weekend Box Office

Finally, someone knocks Blart off his Segway! Kevin James&apos long reign of terror is finally over... only to be usurped by Liam Neeson&aposs crappy kidnapping genre flick, Taken. The big news at the box office this week was that Taken took in $24.6 million this weekend - with three-fifths of the audience male, and 70% of those men over the age of 25. The huge haul for Taken puts the box office totals for the month of January just over $1 billion - a first for Hollywood. It seems that the movie industry really is recession-proof, with people wanting a reasonably inexpensive way to escape. The frighteningly bad Paul Blart: Mall Cop fell to number 2 in the box office totals this week, bringing in $14 million. But Kevin James still has reason to celebrate: this week&aposs totals puts Blart at $83.4 million in total, which will likely make it the first movie of the year to gross over $100 million. Take a moment to think about that one. Rounding out the totals in third place was The Uninvited, a remake of a South Korean horror flick, at $10.5 million. The romcom New in Town, starring Renee Zellweger, bombed as predicted (by those of us with half a working brain), coming in 8th with $6.7 million. One can only hope this puts the nail in the bad romcom coffin. The huge haul for Taken puts the box office totals for the month of January just over $1 billion - a first for Hollywood.
