Dancing with the Stars: Meet the Cast of Season 8

ABC finally announced the official cast of Dancing with the Stars' eighth season, which will kick off with a two-hour performance episode on Monday, March 9 at 8pm ET/PT.  The names of the participants who will be hitting the dance floor this season were announced last night during an "All Night Name Drop" event in interstitials throughout the network's prime-time programming, which includes Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers and Sisters. While past seasons have included race car drivers, singers, actors, reality TV stars, and a celebrity chef, this season has extended invitations to an eclectic mix of hopefuls as well, including an Olympic gymnast, a controversial stunt performer, and a Grammy Award-winning rapper, among others.  And just like season 7, the new season of Dancing with the Stars will feature 13 contestants, consisting of seven men and six women, who will be paired with professional dancers in attempt to win television's hit competitive reality series.

Stephen King, famed horror author, made some pretty harsh comments last week about Twilight author Stephenie Meyer in an interview with USA Weekend. King made a comparison between Meyer and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, stating, "Both Rowling and Meyer, they're speaking directly to young people ... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good." What do you think of Stephen King's comments? Chris Brown Allegedly Assaults Rihanna

Talk about your SOS! If this story is true, this is no joke. Noticeably absent from last night’s Grammy awards were singers Chris Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna. Both were scheduled to perform last night with Rihanna previously scheduled as the opening act. The singers pulled out of the awards show last night after Brown was arrested on allegations of violence.Evidently a 911 call was issued for a disturbance after Clive Davis’ star-studded pre-Grammys party around 12.30am Sunday morning. A statement released by the LAPD said that Brown and his alleged victim "became involved in an argument. After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker." Brown had evidently already left the scene, but a woman with 'visible injuries' - who has not been named - identified him as her assailant. Brown turned himself into police on Sunday evening and was taken into custody. The singer was charged with making criminal threats, after which he was released on $50,000 bail. Further charges may be forthcoming. Was the woman in question Rihanna? An LAPD officer has stated: "The identity of the victim will not be released. Any victim who's involved in a domestic violence incident is entitled to confidentiality." Rihanna’s people have issued a statement that the singer was involved in a traffic mishap but was "fine."Further details are forthcoming on this story but ... read more
